Assessment and Diagnosis

Proper assessment and diagnosis is always the best place to start. A thorough history of the present complaint is taken, which is then followed up by a physical exam which may include a variety of neurologic, range of motion, and orthopedic testing. Sometimes imaging is required to further investigate complicated complaints. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, specific evidence-based guidelines can be implemented for treatment.

Chiropractic Care

A chiropractic adjustment is a therapeutic treatment wherein the hands or a special instrument are used to apply a sudden force to a joint. Controlled adjustments used by licensed professionals are used to manipulate the joints of the spine and extremities for the purpose of reducing pain, increasing mobility, and increasing physical function.

Soft Tissue Manipulation

Soft tissue manipulation refers to therapeutic treatment of muscles, tendons, and ligaments with the hands or a special instrument. There are many techniques used to manipulate soft tissue, for example trigger point therapy and myofascial release. These therapies improve tone, reduce pain, and increase mobility.

Rehabilitation and Exercise

The majority of musculoskeletal pain and injury occurs when a physical stress is placed on the body too quickly, too forcefully or too often. The proper use of exercise to increase strength, mobility and bodily awareness is the best way heal injuries fully and prevent future occurrences.
